Description
The flags are sewn in 100% woven polyester flag cloth 150 g/m2. With embroidered YF in gold. As well as a cord Ø 3 mm, 25 cm at the top of the flag, which is used for attachment to the flagpole top.
How is the size of the flag calculated?
For flags, it is calculated that the front edge of the flag must fill 2/3 of the height of the flags. There are no fixed rules for flag size, but we recommend the sizes below.
The History of the Yacht Flag
Highest resolution of 15 August 1865. Permission to fly the pleasure craft flag, which consists of the Danish naval flag with the letters YF in gold in the uppermost square closest to the pole, is granted on petition to that effect by the Ministry of Marine, but only for deck vessels. The petition, which is stamped for a fee of 65 øre, must be accompanied by the vessel's certificate of measurement or certificate of nationality and registration. The yacht flag entails no favoritism whatsoever for the ship in terms of port and ship taxes. The permit to fly the yacht flag, which only applies until the vessel changes ownership, and which must be found on board and presented at the request of the relevant authorities, is lost when the vessel is not used exclusively for pleasure sailing. In 1957, the obligation to seek permission to fly a yacht flag lapsed.
