Garmin Panoptix FrontVü forward looking sonar
- FrontVü forward-looking sonar helps you avoid grounding¹
- Narrow cone width focuses directly in front of the boat without misalignment
- Shows the bottom up to 90 m (300 ft) in front of the boat in real time
- Provides virtually instant feedback, giving you time to react
- Look ahead and around your boat. Even when lying still, you can see up to 30 m (100 ft) away with LiveVü Forward
The Panoptix thru-hull multibeam transducer with FrontVü forward sounder helps you avoid grounding 1 by displaying the bottom in front of the boat in real time on the chartplotter. It also includes the LiveVü forward sonar, which offers the unique opportunity to see fish – or, for example, divers – swimming in real time below and in front of the boat at a forward distance of up to 30 m (100 ft).
The Panoptix FrontVü sonar shows the bottom up to 90m in front of the boat (up to 8 to 10 times the current depth) and provides near-instant feedback, giving you time to react. Now both sailing and motor boats can navigate narrow passages and unknown waters in optimal safety. Panoptix FrontVü has a narrow cone width of just 20 degrees, which only focuses on the bottom in front of the boat and is not disturbed by what is on the sides of the boat. An AHRS sensor is built in for motion stabilization, providing reliable indications even in rough weather. Of course, your FrontVü sonar data can easily be shared with other chartplotters in the Garmin marine network.
The Panoptix PS51-TH is equipped with a standard 50 mm hull feedthrough. Displays depth and temperature data and can be used with all Panoptix compatible Garmin chartplotters.
With LiveVü Forward, the boat can be moving or lying still. No matter where your electric motor points, you'll see live images of what's happening underwater. Watch your bait sink and see its depth and movement as it spins in. Watch fish swim and react to your bait. When you get hit, you can both see and feel it! When the fish is hooked, you can follow the fight on the screen as it takes place. With Panoptix LiveVü Forward, you can see it all up to 30 m (100 ft) away. Live – ordinary sonar is history.
¹The ability to effectively avoid grounding with the FrontVü sonar is reduced if the speed exceeds 8 knots.
