Ground plan is the overlooked safety equipment. Avoid using engine block, engine legs, keel bolts, rudder shaft as ground. It Corrodes. Use a ground plan!
1. Why must the below be grounded? A lack of ground connection often gives rise to unintended noise on transmitting and receiving equipment. This noise degrades performance significantly, even on expensive equipment. You also get an improved send/receive quality 1. VHF antenna and device 2. Radar 3. Shortwave radio, SSB radio and weather fax 4. Instruments 5. TV/mobile phone NB: Check the manual on the product before connection regarding cable mm² size.
2. Why must the below be grounded? Due to electronic voltage which can cause a spark and corrosion. 1. Fuel tank 2. Filling nozzle 3. Bottom fittings Earth cables must be a minimum of 4 mm² and be connected directly to the bolt of the earth plate.
3. Why must the below be grounded? When you install an inverter or generator, you should also install an earth plane to ensure a good earth connection, since both inverter and generator must be installed with earth, if you use an engine block, drive, keel bolts or anything else, it will corrode. Inverter, generator NB: Check the manual on the product before connection regarding cable mm² size.
REMEMBER! Products from text 1, 2 and 3 must NEVER be grounded on the same ground plane.
