Using this bracket, you can easily stern-mount a compatible 4-, 8- or 12-pin transducer to your boat, providing excellent sonar results at all speeds. Since the transducer is in the water at all times, this mounting style does not protect the transducer from underwater obstructions and resistance will occur on the boat. The included splash shield on the transducer reduces large amounts of water splash from your compatible transducer when the boat is sailing at high speeds.
You can also mount the transducer on a step at the back of your boat with this bracket, where the transducer can be angled so that it runs parallel to the water surface. The result is that no resistance is created. However, when the boat is planing, the transducer will be out of the water with this mounting type and therefore will not scan the bottom.
