With a complete package developed for powerboats and sailboats, Garmin makes advanced marine technology available to recreational boaters that was previously only available to commercial boats. The Reactor 40 autopilot series is simply the most responsive autopilot system we've ever offered.
Reactor 40 autopilots are very versatile. Features for powerboats and sailboats are available in all corepacks, including course hold, wind hold, turn/boom, step turns and more. Simply select the autopilot that is compatible with your existing steering system.
The Reactor 40 hydraulic autopilot corepack is perfect for all types of hydraulically steered powerboats – inboards, outboards, sterndrives and diesels – or hydraulically steered sailboats. This rugged unit allows powerboat owners to have an easy-to-use autopilot system they can rely on for navigation. With its 9-axis solid-state AHRS, the Reactor 40 can be mounted virtually anywhere and in any orientation, and requires minimal start-up adjustment. Our patented Shadow Drive technology gives sailors the peace of mind that they are in control even when using the autopilot.
9-axis solid-state AHRS
With the advanced 9-axis solid-state AHRS, you can mount the Reactor 40 virtually anywhere and in any direction. In addition, this new system significantly reduces directional errors, course deviations, rudder movement and power consumption, providing a comfortable sailing experience for everyone on board.
Responds to sea conditions
This amazing autopilot actually reacts to the sea conditions, so you stay on course. Even when the boat pitches and rolls, you can trust the Reactor 40 autopilot to keep you on the desired course.
Minimal startup adjustment and calibration
All autopilots require start-up adjustment and calibration – without exception. We know you want to just get out on the water, so we made this process as quick and easy as possible. The Power of Simple.
Full integration with Garmin plotters
When combined with a compatible Garmin network plotter, the Reactor 40 gives you full control over everything on the boat. In addition to staying on course in virtually all weather conditions, the system can easily perform a variety of pre-programmed trolling and searching procedures. And with a compatible Garmin network plotter and BlueChart g3 Vision chart (sold separately as an option), you get the industry's best coverage, overview and detail with up-to-date maps of coastal areas that include integrated Garmin and Navionics ® content.
Stay in control with Shadow Drive technology
The Reactor 40 autopilot features patented Shadow Drive technology. You gain peace of mind knowing that you are always in control, even when the autopilot is activated. The Shadow Drive system automatically deactivates the autopilot if the rudder is turned, giving you the freedom to maneuver the boat. The autopilot automatically switches on again when you maintain a fixed course.
