The Running Dynamics Pod is easy to clip onto the waistband to measure the running dynamics you need to beat yesterday's results. It allows you to run without a heart rate monitor on your chest. Once paired with your compatible device, simply clip it to the back and center of the waistband and start running.
Review your form
View and analyze important running parameters such as your cadence, stride length, time and balance in ground contact, vertical fluctuations and vertical ratio. This biomechanical data can help you understand your running form so you can perform more on race day.
That is how it works
The Running Dynamics Pod has an accelerometer in the module that measures upper body movement to calculate these six running parameters:
- Cadence is the number of steps per minute. It shows the total number of steps (right and left combined).
- Time with ground contact per step for left/right balance while running. It is displayed as a percentage. For example, 53.2 with an arrow pointing left or right.
- Stride length is the length of your steps from one foot strike to the next, measured in meters.
- Vertical swings are your jumps while running. It shows the vertical movement of your upper body, measured in centimeters for each step.
- The vertical ratio is the ratio between vertical oscillations and stride length. It is displayed as a percentage. A lower number typically indicates better running form.
- Ground contact time is the time each step is on the ground while running measured in milliseconds.
