Portuguese balsam turpentine. Comes from a balsam that is obtained from coniferous trees and is extracted by making incisions in the bark. Clear liquid with a very sharp and characteristic smell. This is a turpentine oil that itself contains natural wood oils.
For oil paints Used i.a. to stir in oil colors to achieve the right flexibility in the color.
Wood processing 1 part Vegetable Turpentine and 3 parts Borup Cold Pressed Linseed Oil (dosage may vary - see any recommendation on the label of the linseed oil).
